Privacy Policy

The Japanese Society of Nephrology (hereinafter referred to as the "Society") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and, in order to handle personal information appropriately, will comply with laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information and will endeavor to protect personal information held by the Society in accordance with this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy").


Collection and use of personal information

We collect personal information (such as name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address) from customers to the extent necessary to provide services in line with the Society's business objectives, to compile a membership list, and to carry out research and investigations, as well as Society business. When collecting information, in principle, we will clearly state the purpose of collection and use, and will only collect information to the extent necessary for the purpose, based on the individual's will.

(2) When it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent.
(3) When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of healthy development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent.
(4) Cases where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, local government, or a person commissioned by them in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual's consent would be likely to impede the performance of such duties.
(5) When necessary to disclose to business partners, etc. with whom we have entered into confidentiality agreements, etc., in order to achieve the purposes of use clearly stated to you.


How do we protect your information?

We will properly and carefully manage the personal information provided by customers and implement necessary and appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, as well as the loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information.


Regarding disclosure and correction of personal information by the person himself/herself

If the individual requests disclosure of personal information collected by the Society, the Society will disclose that information after verifying that the requester is the individual. In addition, if the individual requests correction, modification, deletion, etc. of their personal information, the Society will respond promptly within reasonable limits.
